You’ll know your baby is ready for pre-walker shoes when they start standing, cruising along furniture, or taking a few wobbly steps. Pre-walkers are ideal for babies who are beginning to move around but aren’t walking confidently yet. They’re especially useful for outings or when your baby is walking on rough or outdoor surfaces.

Step 1: Measure

During the measuring step, we gently measure your baby’s feet to find the perfect size, taking into account both length and width, as well as their unique foot shape.

Our trained fitters use Start-Rite gauges to measure with a calm, friendly approach to make sure your baby feels comfortable every step of the way. We’ll guide you through the process and answer any questions, so you can feel confident you’re choosing the right fit to support those precious first steps.

Step 2: Fitting Service

Once we’ve measured, we move on to the fitting. We carefully try on a selection of styles to find the perfect pair — not just for size, but for comfort and support too.

Our team checks how the shoes fit while your little one stands, moves, and walks. We’re here to guide you every step of the way, so you leave with shoes that fit beautifully and feel great.

Step 3: First Shoe Package

Once you’ve chosen your baby’s first shoes, you’ll receive a special keepsake photo (free of charge) in our lovely first shoes photo frame to mark the moment and treasure forever, along with our First Shoe Guide - packed with helpful information about this exciting milestone.

You’ll also receive your First Fit Card, which you’ll get every time you visit us for a fitting.
