First shoes are a big milestone, and we're here to help you choose with confidence - from cruising along furniture to those exciting independent steps. 

Lightweight, flexible prewalkers can offer protection when out and about. We'll help you decide what your little one needs- with no pressure to buy if they're not ready. 

Book a first shoe fitting

Step 1: A little introduction and a measure 

We'll chat about  how your little one is getting around, then measure their feet. Length, width, depth and foot shape all help us choose suitable styles - the measurement is our starting point.

Step 2: Finding a suitable pair

We'll try suitable styles and carefully check the fit, allowing your child to stand and move as they're able. We'll explain what we are checking and answer your questions.

Step 3: A keepsake of the moment

When you buy their first shoes in our Edinburgh shop, we'll mark the occasion with a complimentary photo, a First Shoe Guide, and their First Fitting Card.

A little reassurance

Having their feet measured and trying on shoes is a new experience, and some little ones need time to feel comfortable. Please don't worry if your child is unsure or tearful - we are used to it, and we will work with you. Snacks, a favourite toy or book are all great to bring along.

Our shop can get lively, especially at weekends. If your child finds busy spaces a little overwhelming, get in touch before booking and we can help you choose a quieter time to visit.

Book their first shoe fitting

Appointments last 30 minutes, giving us time to measure little feet, try suitable styles and check the fit. Please arrive on time to make the most of your visit.  

Your appointment is with one of our fitting team, and other families may be enjoying fittings in the shop alongside you.

Walk-ins are welcome too, although there may be a wait during busy periods.
